Image File Specifications - Photoshop CS3:

The resolution of any image is determined by the resolution it was scanned at or a picture was taken at. Once an image is created into a file there is no way of increasing the resolution. All picture files should be a minimum of 300DPI (printing Dots Per Inch) therefore if you are scanning a photo that is 1” x 2” and you are increasing the final size to 2” x 4” you must scan the image at 600DPI to have the correct resolution of 300 DPI for printing.

When creating DCS files they must be first saved as Multichannels. DCS files are a combination of CMYK and spot colours:

  • Save as an EPS/DCS file which is a single colour separated file. We will not accept simply DCS files; they must be EPS/DCS files.
  • DCS file must always be linked to your final artwork.

Bitmap Images: Must be at least 300 DPI in the correct colour space for printing utilizing the pantone or CMYK colours needed for Your Specific print job. For 8 bit solid colour bitmap images the resolution must be at least 1200DPI. No interpolation can occur to original images.
