Human Resources Generalist

Role Overview
The Human Resources (HR) Generalist is a new role performing a range of HR duties supporting the divisional HR Manager. The duties consist of recruiting, onboarding, health & safety, policies, training, labour relations, education, and other HR programs. Provide resolutions and consulting in the above areas to ensure profitable manufacturing-based business operations.

Location
This position is based at the Supremex Durabox Lachine, QC facility, supporting 3 local faclities (Lachine, LaSalle, Laval, QC) with a total of approximately 185 employees.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Perform all recruiting cycle for hourly employees (postings, interviews, screening, selection, offer etc)
• Administer and educate employees of benefits and retirement insurance information
• Participate in the development, improvement, and implementation of Health & Safety programs
• Develop and provide recommendations for policies and processes
• Ensure effective exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations
• Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager
• Recommend, develop and maintain human resource data bases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned

Candidate Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management
• 3-5 years of work experience in HR required
• Bilingual (French / English) both spoken and written
• Work experience in recruitment and health and safety preferred, with demonstrated work knowledge of multiple human resource areas
• Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred
• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
• Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
• Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail required
• Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with various departments, regions, and external stakeholders
• Excellent time and project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve HR related issues associated with regulations, laws and policies
